The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) has officially confirmed that Carlo Ancelotti will assume the role of the new manager for the Brazilian national team, starting from June 2024 and taking charge for the Copa America.
Ancelotti, who is currently under contract with Real Madrid, has expressed his commitment to honoring his obligations with the club until June 2024.
Meanwhile, as part of the transition period, Fernando Diniz has been appointed as the interim coach of the Brazilian national team.
Diniz's 12-month contract will align with the duration of Ancelotti's commitment to Real Madrid.
CBF President Ednaldo Rodrigues further explained, "The new interim coach will arrive and make the transition from the Brazilian team to coach Ancelotti, who will take over there for the Copa América." The intention of the Brazilian soccer confederation is to wait until the following season and then bring in Ancelotti, the experienced 64-year-old Italian coach, to lead the national team into the 2026 World Cup.
With Ancelotti's prestigious coaching background, there is great anticipation surrounding his tenure.
It is noteworthy that he will make history as the first non-Brazilian manager to lead the Brazil National Team, adding further intrigue to his appointment.
The question now arises: Can Carlo Ancelotti achieve the extraordinary feat of winning the Copa America in 2024 and leading Brazil to triumph in the World Cup?
