Brighton and Hove Albion Bolsters Squad with American Midfielder Star Madison Haley's Signing

Albion has secured another valuable addition to their WSL team by signing an attacking midfielder from Sydney FC. The 24-year-old Texan, previously with Stanford University, joins the British club after her recent triumph in the Australian league with Sydney FC. During her time with the team, Haley scored 8 goals in 772 minutes of play last season and added 3 more in the crucial two-playoff games that led them to victory.

Her remarkable performance during the 2022/23 season and 11 goals in 15 league outings for Sydney FC caught the attention of Brighton and Hove Albion. However, her arrival is contingent upon a successful visa application and necessary regulatory procedures. Haley's signing marks the second acquisition in the last 24 hours for Brighton and Hove Albion, following the recent signings of Vicky Losada and Pauline Bremer from AS Roma and Barcelona, respectively.

Speaking about the new addition, Brighton and Hove Albion's head coach, Melissa Philips, expressed her excitement, saying, "Madi is a fantastic addition to our squad. She has come off the back of a successful season with Sydney FC in Australia and has gained many accolades during her time playing at Stanford University. She is an exciting and ambitious attack-minded player who is dynamic and clinical around the goal, and we look forward to seeing what she can add to our team."
