In a shocking incident, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma and his girlfriend soon to be wife were subjected to a violent robbery at their residence in Paris.
During the robbery, the assailants forcefully entered their home, physically assaulted the couple, and then restrained them as they stole valuables estimated at around €500,000 (£432,051).
In a desperate bid to seek safety, Donnarumma and his girlfriend managed to find refuge in a nearby luxury hotel at approximately 3.20 am. The hotel staff promptly contacted the authorities, leading to police intervention.
Due to the trauma and injuries sustained during the attack, both victims were subsequently taken to the hospital for necessary medical care.
This unfortunate incident highlights the need for PSG to help with security measures for their players, as several other past and present team members, including Angel Di Maria, Marquinhos, Sergio Rico, Mauro Icardi, and Thiago Silva, have also experienced similar home robberies in the past.
