Jose Mourinho Departs AS Roma with immediate effect, could a Possible Return to England be on the cards

Jose Mourinho and AS Roma have parted ways with immediate effect. Mourinho, 60, joined the Italian club in 2021. He then led them to victory in the UEFA Conference, marking Roma’s first trophy in 11 years. Last year, Mourinho guided Roma to the Europa League final, but they ultimately fell short to Sevilla. Despite a challenging start this season, Roma, operating with a limited transfer budget due to financial fair play regulations, finds itself in 9th place as Mourinho departs. Despite European success, Roma has failed to secure a top-four finish in the past two seasons under Mourinho, settling for consecutive sixth-place finishes.

Will Mourinho come back to England?

This question will always be asked, as Mourinho has given us many magical moments and has been absolutely box office. His greatest success in England was with Chelsea, where he won three league titles across two spells. His tenure at Manchester United saw him secure a Europa League and a League Cup. However, his departure was prompted by clashes in football style and falling out with players. The Tottenham spell is better left not remembered, although he did guide the club to a League Cup final, which he didn’t get to manage.

It would be telling, however, if we could have Jose Mourinho at Chelsea just one more time, one last dance. After all, that's where he belongs, and that's where he made a name for himself. We all remember his first interview where he called himself "the special one." Mauricio Pochettino has struggled and is under pressure since his arrival. Could Jose Mourinho be the man for them one last time?
