Kylian Mbappé has been left out of the Paris Saint-Germain squad traveling for a pre-season tour in Japan. The club has made it clear that players not part of the tour are not in their immediate plans. This decision comes on the heels of Mbappé's communication to PSG expressing his reluctance to activate his contract extension, indicating his desire to depart next year.
The situation marks the latest twist in the ongoing clash between the French captain and his club, stemming from president Nasser Al-Khelaifi's ultimatum earlier this month. The ultimatum presented the 24-year-old with a simple choice: extend his contract beyond the next season or face a potential sale this summer.
Throughout the summer, PSG President Al-Khelaifi, has been clear in his stance to Mbappe and Sporting Advisor Luis Campos, emphasizing that Mbappé must either extend his contract or face a transfer this summer.
Additionally, PSG is convinced that Mbappé has a pre-existing agreement with Real Madrid to join them once his current contract expires. Despite this, the player remains steadfast in his stance, asserting that he has no intentions of triggering the one-year extension clause in the contract he signed last summer.
Internally, there are discussions suggesting that Mbappé might be sidelined until the end of the transfer window. Nevertheless, he still has until July 31 to make a decision and potentially trigger the extension option. The coming days will undoubtedly be pivotal in determining the star forward's future with the club.
