Starboy Bukayo Saka Shines with Hat-Trick as England Smash 7 past North Macedonia

Updated: Jun 21, 2023

In a commanding victory at Old Trafford, Arsenal star Bukayo Saka achieved a remarkable milestone, scoring his first-ever career hat-trick as England cruised past North Macedonia. The 21-year-old displayed his prowess by netting England's second goal with a powerful finish into the top of the net, capitalizing on Harry Kane's earlier breakthrough. Marcus Rashford added a third goal at his home stadium before Saka took center stage in the second half.

Saka's achievement now places him among the ranks of the seven youngest players, including Michael Owen, Peter Crouch, Theo Walcott, Jermain Defoe, Harry Kane, and Raheem Sterling, to record a hat-trick for the England men's team in this century.

Expressing his elation after the victory, Saka told Channel 4, "This is a feeling I can't really put into words. There's nothing I can say to really describe how I'm feeling right now. I don't know what to say, I'm just so happy."

Reflecting on his goals, Saka revealed his favorite among them, stating, "I liked the first one, but I have to go with the second one as my favorite. A volley from outside the box, finding the top corner like that? I have to choose that one."

The response to Saka's achievement on social media spoke volumes, as fans of rival clubs expressed admiration for Arsenal's possession of such a talented player, rather than diminishing his accomplishment. Saka's consistent performance for both club and country has quelled any doubts that arose when he first broke into the England squad following his stellar season at Arsenal. Despite the heartbreak he endured in the Euro 2020 final, Saka has proven his resilience. With consecutive seasons of reaching double figures in goals for Arsenal, attention has shifted back to his international exploits.

Bukayo Saka has successfully answered all the questions thrown at him, leaving us at a crossroads as we approach the next European Championships. Do we acknowledge that he has no more questions to answer, or do we set even higher targets, knowing full well that he will fearlessly tackle each and every one of them?
